Shift: Second Shift

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose failures and recommend effective repair solutions
  • Perform repairs precisely and efficiently, adhering to dealership and factory standards
  • Work primarily on Peterbilt vehicles under the supervision of the Service Supervisor
  • Receive assignments from the Service Writer/Advisor
  • Interact with dealership personnel, manufacturer representatives, and customers
  • Mentor less-experienced technicians
  • Stay informed about and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including EPA, OSHA, and DOT guidelines
  • Prioritize safety in all shop and vehicle activities
  • Report any safety issues immediately
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Report any changes in vehicle appearance or condition to department management immediately

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational diploma or degree in diesel or truck repair required
  • Experience: Four to six years of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Licenses: CDL license recommended; valid driver's license and clean driving record required
  • Certifications: Preferred certifications include MX Engine, Cummins Heavy Duty, Cummins Mid-Range, Allison Transmission, or Eaton Transmission

Physical Requirements

  • Manual Dexterity: Regular use of hands to handle, feel, and reach
  • Mobility: Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch; occasionally required to sit
  • Strength: Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds
  • Vision: Color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Work Environment: Noise level varies from quiet to moderate or loud, with sudden loud noises possible
