Truck Driver/Warehouse Staff

The Truck Driver/Warehouse Staff maintains a welcoming atmosphere at the warehouse and during pick-ups and drop-offs by ensuring items are displayed well, facilities including the truck are kept neat, and each guest is cared for in a polite manner. The employee will participate in all warehouse operations, including storage of goods, vehicle logs and maintenance, and complete daily reports.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations at the warehouse and answer all phone calls to the warehouse.
• Engage in welcoming interactions with the public while making decisions on accepting donations.
• Schedule pick-up of items (loading and unloading the truck) at local houses, stores (Corps), and vendors (rags, books, purses, etc.).
• Maintain accurate records of donations and ensure the store has an adequate supply of goods.
• Keep the work area neat and clean in the warehouse.
• Maintain mileage and maintenance logs as necessary and notify management staff of any vehicle maintenance needed.
• Provide oversight to all volunteers working within the warehouse.
• Inventory, organize, and maintain warehouse items (metal sorted, electronics tested, etc.).
• Establish a safety checklist to ensure constant attention to the safety of everyone involved in the warehouse.
• Assist with bailing rags and loading the shipping truck as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager to ensure the proper functioning of the Family Store.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License with the ability to drive a truck.
