Primary Responsibilities
- Drive furniture trucks to make pick-ups and deliveries.
- Load and unload trucks at a furniture bank location on the North Side.
- Produce and maintain accurate documentation, including work orders and furniture vouchers.
- Execute pick lists and other applicable documents to fill order.
- Assist on dock or throughout warehouse when applicable.
- Assemble all furniture when inside customer home before leaving.
- Safely operate all warehouse and moving equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly facility and accurate inventory.
- Mentor others, including junior staff, volunteers, and interns throughout the year.
Due to the Interface with Clients
- Walk alongside clients as a disciple of Christ and share the Gospel through actions and words.
- Establish mutual trust and create a safe, authentic environment so that the clients continue to mature in Christ.
- Resolve all issues in ways that promote the principles of Light of Life while following the processes described in the staff manual.
- PRACTICE EFFECTIVE STEWARDSHIP OF ALL RESOURCES.
- MODEL PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, ACCOUNTABILITY, TIMELY REPORTING AND A SELF-EVALUATIVE LIFESTYLE.
Education & Experience
- Minimum high school diploma or GED.
- Valid PA Driver's license and clean driving record.
- 7-10 years' driving experience.
- Furniture delivery experience preferred.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must be able to lift large objects like furniture and appliances.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment including dolly, pump jack, power jack, and/or other material handling equipment.
- Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of General Driving Safety Principles.
- Knowledge of substance abuse issues and recovery (helpful).
