Truck Driver & Warehouse Worker

Primary Responsibilities

• Drive furniture trucks to make pick-ups and deliveries.
• Load and unload trucks at a furniture bank location on the North Side.
• Produce and maintain accurate documentation, including work orders and furniture vouchers.
• Execute pick lists and other applicable documents to fill order.
• Assist on dock or throughout warehouse when applicable.
• Assemble all furniture when inside customer home before leaving.
• Safely operate all warehouse and moving equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly facility and accurate inventory.
• Mentor others, including junior staff, volunteers, and interns throughout the year.

Due to the Interface with Clients

• Walk alongside clients as a disciple of Christ and share the Gospel through actions and words.
• Establish mutual trust and create a safe, authentic environment so that the clients continue to mature in Christ.
• Resolve all issues in ways that promote the principles of Light of Life while following the processes described in the staff manual.
• PRACTICE EFFECTIVE STEWARDSHIP OF ALL RESOURCES.
• MODEL PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, ACCOUNTABILITY, TIMELY REPORTING AND A SELF-EVALUATIVE LIFESTYLE.

Education & Experience

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Valid PA Driver's license and clean driving record.
• 7-10 years' driving experience.
• Furniture delivery experience preferred.

Skills & Qualifications

• Must be able to lift large objects like furniture and appliances.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment including dolly, pump jack, power jack, and/or other material handling equipment.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of General Driving Safety Principles.
• Knowledge of substance abuse issues and recovery (helpful).
