Truck Driver Training Instructor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach the classroom portion of the Truck Driver Training Program, including permits, logbooks, and trip planning.
• Teach hands-on portion of the Truck Driver Training Program, including backing, shifting, and behind-the-wheel training.
• Maintain student files in compliance with ICCB and IL Secretary of State standards.
• Maintain Truck Driver Training Program equipment.
• Monitor inventory of training supplies.
• Evaluate and grade students throughout the program.
• Provide maintenance on equipment in emergency situations.
• Able to work on-call bases if the enrollment requires.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess a class CDL-A driver's license and a current Department of Transportation medical certificate.
• Over-the-road experience, clean driving record, and "a minimum of 5 years" of experience.
• Some training experience is a plus.

Physical Demands

• Regularly works in an office setting.
• Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently required to stand, talk and hear.
