Truck Driver Trainee

Employees required to work on-site are eligible for a $1,450 monthly housing allowance, provided they meet program guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections to maximize equipment and tire life.
• Execute assignments from a computerized dispatch system and/or two-way radio.
• Receive training, mentoring, and feedback from operators, supervisors, and equipment trainers.
• Understand changes to assigned work areas and potential hazards.
• Know and follow procedures for start-up, shut-down, fueling, fire, runaway, emergency, and accident scenarios.
• Demonstrate knowledge of payload measurement systems, over-speed alarms, dispatch codes, shovel and truck horn signals, secondary brakes, and park brakes.
• Safely perform tasks such as spotting at shovel, loading, transporting material, dumping on stockpiles, and dumping at the crusher.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English.
• Ability to communicate in English regarding job assignments, procedures, and safety standards.
• Completion of academic and practical competencies, including Line of Progression (LOP) requirements for internal employees where applicable.
• Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and skills, including passing a written assessment based on skills, abilities, academic knowledge, and safety.
• Must pass a medical exam if required.
• Must pass all required training and/or testing.
• Willingness to work a non-standard schedule, including shift work at a 24/7, 365-day operation.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.

Pay

The estimated pay range for this role is $20.00–$26.50/hour (base salary only). This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payments based on company and individual performance.
