Truck Driver - Part Time/ Full Time available
About the role

This position requires some truck driving and a Class C License. The Truck Driver will safely manage and ensure orderly distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory and delivering/retrieving them to outside vendors. They will work under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor and be a member of the warehouse team. This individual will also support nVent goals in any way that management requests with a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Moves stock items from staging area and places them in proper bin locations.
- Counts, weighs, verifies, and posts quantities in the computer.
- Issues parts and materials for manufacturing requirements as requested; stages them in appropriate areas for delivery to the plant.
- Selects stock to fill customer orders; arranges loose items in tote pans, stage pans, and cartons for packaging operations.
- Takes cycle counts of stock items as scheduled.
- Uses material handling equipment, as necessary, to move materials in the performance of duties.
- Replenishes material when necessary.
- Counts and verifies stock against customer orders prior to packaging.
- Selects proper container for most economical use of packaging material and proper protection of items.
- Cuts lumber with the use of hand or power equipment to construct special shipping containers.
- Positions product to prevent damage and obtain proper distribution of packaging material; closes and seals containers; applies labels or marks special designations; shrinks and bands skids; loads trucks as directed.
- Reports faulty equipment, defective material, and unusual conditions to supervisor.
- Able to drive a box truck requiring a Class C license or the ability to obtain the license needed.
- Observes all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition.
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed which may require more than the normal shift hours or work week to meet company needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must pass a DOT drug screen and Physical, has or able to get a Class C license.
- Previous warehouse experience of at least 1 year, in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Computer skills including data entry, retrieval, and word processing.
- Ability to read basic blueprints.
- Ability to use measuring tools (Dial indicators, Micrometer, and Caliper).
- Ability to communicate with customer, associates, and management.
- Ability to be a self-starter and detail oriented.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively to pressure.
- Exercise initiative in organizing and completing multiple tasks.
- Must be able to work with a flexible schedule depending on the business needs.
- Heavy lifting required (50 plus lbs.). Ability to bend, twist, reach, climb, pull, push, stand and squat.
- Ability to work effectively in a TEAM environment required.
- Must have a good attendance record.
Qualifications

Pay
Pay Transparency: nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply. Compensation Range $14.80 - $27.50 Per Hour.
Schedule
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
