Truck Driver (Part Time)

Responsibilities

• Operate a 26-foot straight truck to transport and deliver donated goods to our Attended Donation Centers across Central New York.
• Safely unload goods at donation centers and return carts of donations to our Liverpool warehouse for sorting and processing.
• Document driving hours, fuel/toll receipts, and comply with driving regulations (e.g., route, parking, weight limits) and company policies and procedures.
• Perform truck inspections and conduct maintenance to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
• Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professional interactions with donation center staff and the public.

Requirements

• Clean driving record.
• Strong knowledge of truck driving rules and regulations and ability to adhere to them.
• Ability to handle unexpected situations, such as traffic and weather challenges.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to represent the Rescue Mission professionally.
• Ability to perform vehicle inspections, perform preventative maintenance, and keep work areas clean and organized.
• Willingness to submit background and drug checks and provide employment recommendations.
• Truck maneuvering abilities.
• Ability and willingness to carry out delivery instructions and to report any defects, accidents, and violations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid NYS CDL ‘B’/A with air brake endorsement in compliance with company driving criteria required.
• 2+ years of previous driving experience preferred.

$20.50/hr

Schedule

• Part-Time, Weekend Availability.
• Evening Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM.
• Additional availability may be required to cover other shifts as needed.
