Responsibilities

• Uphold Walmart’s high standards of safety, integrity, and professionalism every mile
• Plan your day, set priorities, and work with your team to keep freight moving safely and on time
• Communicate clearly, solve problems, and adapt to changes on the road or in the plan
• Handle all required paperwork and electronic logs accurately
• Follow all DOT, state, and company guidelines
• Safely operate your tractor-trailer, inspecting it before, during, and after each trip
• Run optimized routes by following traffic laws and local restrictions to reduce delays and improve on-time delivery performance

Requirements

• Interstate (Class A) Commercial Driver’s License with Hazmat endorsement (including cleared background check) or will obtain HAZMAT endorsement within 120 calendar days of hire
• Minimum of 30 months experience working in a full-time Class A tractor/trailer driving position in the previous 3 years (or successful completion of the Walmart Fleet Development Academy Program)
• No more than two (2) moving violations while operating a personal and/or commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years
• No serious traffic violations while operating a personal and/or commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years
• No preventable accidents while operating a personal and/or commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years
• No preventable DOT recordable accidents (collisions resulting in disabling damage and/or immediate medical treatment away from the scene) while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last ten (10) years
• No preventable accident resulting in a fatality or catastrophic injury in driving history in personal and/or commercial motor vehicle
• Must currently live within 250 miles of the assigned facility or be willing to establish a residence within 250 miles by 90 days from hire date

Pay

• Mileage rate: $0.55 - $0.69 per mile
• Average miles driven: 62,355 - 196,040 per year (varies by location and actual miles driven)
• Activity pay for specific tasks (e.g., Arrive/Arrive Drop, Bridge Pay, Chain, Evening Shift Premium, Hook, Live Load, Layover, Live Unload, Regional Pay, Stop/Stop Drop, Weekend mileage)
• Activity-only pay for tasks such as Accident, Breakdown, Weather/Road Closure, Cleaning Rejected Trailer, Assigned tractor not available, Out of hours (70), Snow Removal, Undock Trailers, Trailer Weight issue, and Wait Time
• Average Daily Pay (ADP) of $240 per day for circumstances like PTO, safety day, holiday, deferred holiday, bereavement, jury duty, and Walmart events lasting 8 hours or more
