Hourly Pay: $24.32 Per Hour
Paid Training
Drivers are paid weekly.

Schedule

On Call when needed
Monday - Friday
Start Time: 4:45 AM - 8:30 AM
Occasional Saturday On Call

About the role

Deliver SOLO within a 100-mile radius of Grove City, OH. Local route with home daily.

  • Trailer Type: 26' Straight Truck
  • Equipment: Manual Dolly, Pallet Jack
  • Freight: Touch – Cable Boxes
  • Ryder will train you on all equipment needed to be successful
  • Ryder Drivers operate well-maintained, safe trucks, 36 months or newer with 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations

Responsibilities

This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a vehicle and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training, and customer service. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Other tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Must have verifiable driving experience in like equipment (straight truck or box truck):
    • 6 months experience in the past 3 years, OR
    • 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
    • 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures

Notice To Applicants Holding a CDL: This position does not require the operation of CDL-regulated equipment. However, candidates who possess a valid Commercial Drivers License will be subject to FMCSA requirements, including but not limited to, pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse query.
