Truck Driver - Hiker/Vehicle Transporter/CDL - Part Time

Penske Truck Leasing in Pasco is looking for a Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver) to deliver and return vehicles to Penske locations and customers. This role primarily involves moving box trucks up to 26’ and, for CDL Class A holders, tractors and trailers. The position may also include assisting the service department with parts and equipment delivery.

Responsibilities

• Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to Penske or customer locations
• Inspect vehicles to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order; report issues to the location manager
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment when required
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage
• Perform other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• 2 years of driving experience
• 2 years of a clean DMV motor vehicle record
• Valid Class B CDL (Class A preferred)
• Must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in state of residence
• Ability to read and follow written instructions
• Ability to work independently, strong customer service and organizational skills, and a positive attitude
• English language proficiency (required by federal law, 49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2))
• Regular, predictable attendance
• Must maintain a current driver qualification file, including annual MVR check, DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records from prior employers (last 3 years)
• CDL holders must complete a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and comply with FMCSA Clearinghouse review
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, and complete a background investigation and drug screening
• Must work in a constant state of alertness and prioritize safety for self and others

Physical Requirements

• Ability to see and hear, with specific vision requirements including close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Frequent movement, standing, walking, and sitting
• Frequent use of hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg
• Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely enter/exit the vehicle and rear cargo area

Pay

$23.00/hour + shift differential when applicable

Schedule

• 2-3 days a week, scheduled in advance
• Can be any day Monday-Friday, 8-12 hours per day
• Casual/on-call part-time role, 0-25 hours per week based on business needs
