Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Grimes, IA, offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

Pay

  • $975 or more per week
  • Paid weekly
  • Hours per week: 40 hours
  • Paid training

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday
  • Start time: 6:00 AM
  • Home daily
  • Deliver solo in IA

Equipment & freight

  • Straight truck (16' - 26')
  • Trailer type: Straight trucks
  • Equipment: Pallet jack and liftgate
  • Ryder will train you on all equipment needed
  • Freight: Touch – auto parts
  • Drivers operate well-maintained, safe trucks, 36 months or newer with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position is for a straight truck or box truck)
  • Pass a Ryder drug test
  • Must have verifiable driving experience: 6 months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
  • Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

  • Safely driving a vehicle within compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Loading/unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Other tasks as assigned
