About the role

We are seeking a Class A Driver for our Driver Development Program in Owensboro, KY. This program is designed for individuals with zero experience but with 9 months or less of CDL driving experience. The position offers competitive pay, including a weekly minimum guarantee during training and after training, along with mileage and stop pay.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) regarding the checking in and out of freight
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a Ryder background and a Motor Vehicle Registration check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A
  • Ability to: Follow written and/or oral instructions, Read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Qualifications

Some positions may require additional screening, including employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Pay

Weekly Minimum Guarantee During Training: $1050
Weekly Minimum Guarantee After Training: $1385
Miles Pay: $0.51 per Mile with 2500 Miles per Week
Stops Pay: $11.00 per Stop
Drop and Hook Pay: $6.00 per Drop/Hook

Schedule

Hours are flexible and depend on the route and schedule provided by Ryder.
