Truck Driver 4
About the role
The Truck Driver 4 position at International Paper operates assigned vehicles along designated routes to collect recyclable materials from commercial customers. This role adheres to company, federal, state, and local laws, as well as Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate assigned vehicle
- Aid in training new drivers
- Complete daily pre/post trip inspections
- Report any safety concerns
- Attend daily safety-toolbox meetings
- Obtain daily work schedule, BOLs
- Courteously interact with customers and dispatcher
- Accommodate route changes as needed
- Ensure all pick-up, delivery, and vehicle condition reports are completed accurately and promptly
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Drive as needed to cover team vacations and/or illness
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL (Required)
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must have 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience (Required)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must have a Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
- Must have a current DOT Medical Card
- Must have an Air Brakes Endorsement
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and criminal background check
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Good time management skills
- Pride in reliability and working with a team
- Flexibility to work overtime and adapt to changes as needed
- Comfortable backing, maneuvering, and parking a tractor trailer
- Knowledgeable of proper methods of loading and unloading trucks safely, securing loads on trucks
- Ability to drive in a wide range of environmental conditions
- On-the-job success in safety, attendance, and quality of work expected
- Ability to operate/monitor the following equipment: Truck Trailer Forklift Unit (TTFU), Bale Trucks, Roll On-Roll Off for Compactor Tubes and Drop Boxes, Packers
Skills
- Valid Class A CDL
- Manual transmission operating ability
- Age 21 or older
- 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
- Current DOT Medical card
