About the role

The Michigan State Police Trooper Explorer Program is an educational youth initiative aimed at introducing individuals to a career in law enforcement through training and mentorship from Michigan State Police members.

Responsibilities

• Attend bi-weekly meetings at your assigned post for up to four hours.
• Participate in classroom instruction, scenario-based training, or specialty team demonstrations.
• Engage in leadership training, experience in leadership roles, and public speaking.
• Volunteer at community events.
• Participate in competitions with other police explorer programs.

Requirements

• Must be between the ages of 14 - 21 years old.
• Have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• No felony convictions.
• Excellent moral character.

• Education and experience requirements are met.

Skills

• Leadership training experience.
