TRIO Student Support Services Program Peer Tutor
About the role
The incumbent will communicate frequently with the Coordinator and/or other program staff regarding student progress and performance. They will demonstrate an understanding and acceptance of student differences (diversity), maintain proper records & documentation and confidentiality of information, assess tutee status to determine areas of strengths/weaknesses, schedule and conduct tutorial sessions, either one-on-one or small group tutoring, maintain and document contact with assigned tutees, conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times and be a positive role model for students, attend scheduled meetings, training sessions, workshops, seminars designed to enhance tutor/tutee experience, and perform other duties as directed by the Coordinator/Counselor.
Responsibilities

- Absess tutee status to determine areas of strengths/weaknesses.
- Schedule and conduct tutorial sessions, either one-on-one or small group tutoring.
- Maintain and document contact with assigned tutees.
- Congduct oneself in a professional manner at all times and be a positive role model for students.
- Attend scheduled meetings, training sessions, workshops, seminars designed to enhance tutor/tutee experience.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Coordinator/Counselor.
Requirements
- Have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Be flexible, enthusiastic, and friendly.
- Have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
- Be classified as a junior or senior.
- Be able to provide tutorial services for three or more subject/content areas.
