About the role
Trimmer Die Assemblers are an integral part of a successful team, responsible for operating machines and using machining tools to grind and polish dies and trimmers that have been used for our forgings and require repair. A successful Trimmer Die Assembler is a problem-solver, safety-focused, and understands the importance of precision and quality. You will learn ATI, our products, customers, and procedures, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure products are manufactured to quality and customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Grind impressions, polish, blend welded or machined surfaces to required contour of the impression.
- Perform grinding and polishing techniques to die room standards.
- Repair dies and trimmers by benching machined die surfaces, peening cracked impressions, blending, benching, and polishing to restore them to serviceable condition.
- Work with various tools, including gauges, templates, and measuring instruments.
- Set tooling up to print.
- Operate gantry and overhead cranes safely.
Requirements
- 1 year of manufacturing environment experience.
- A minimum of 1 year of machine and/or precision grinding experience.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Passing score in Aptitude/Accuplacer test.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift and overhead crane operation experience.
- Knowledge of die cleaning and polishing operations.
Skills
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to use hand tools.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Mechanically inclined.
Schedule
This role follows a rotating Pitman schedule of 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 pattern, from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
