PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Locates and identifies type, size and quantity of all components needed to assemble product.
  • Assembles equipment according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following blueprints using hand and power tools and some measuring devices.
  • Checks completed units, ensuring proper alignment of parts and components and notes any need for modification.
  • Conducts inspections to ensure proper operation of parts.
  • Notifies management of malfunctions.
  • Assists in trouble shooting, noting need for corrective action.
  • Conducts hydrostatic tests as required or directed.
  • Performs painting of finished product as needed.
  • Uses forklift to move freight and/or inventory.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Reasoning Abilities: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Other Skills And Abilities: Ability to read blueprints, Knowledge of shop safety practices, Knowledge of quality assurance as normally acquired through in-house seminars and training.
  • Above average skills in: Retaining Instruction, Demonstrated ability to: Progressively Assemble, General knowledge of: Mechanical applications.

  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

  • The employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and/or the ability to adjust focus.

Education & Experience

  • Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED is the minimum requirement, often supplemented by vocational or technical school training.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
