General Statement of Duties
- Manages, e-files, and researches cases in the case management system.
- Schedules and calibrates hearings for a judge, including motions, conferences, restraining orders, injunctions, and show cause orders.
- Drafts and processes legal pleadings and correspondence for Judge's review.
- Assists pro se litigants, provides legal forms, and assists with procedural information.
- Oversees jury certificates, trial seating charts, and edits jury instructions and questionnaires.
- Coordinates with support programs and manages cases.
- Conducts motor vehicle department case research and screens domestic violence/civil restraining order petitions.
- Coordinates court staff, court reporters, and court proceedings.
- Coordinates with other agencies and departments within the judiciary and court staff to manage cases and documents.
- Reviews and updates comprehensive logs of pending guardianship and conservatorship cases.
- Prepares and maintains yearly jury and bench docket calendars.
- Runs, evaluates, and summarizes reports to assist judges.
- Evaluates and assesses proposed-text emails for court and filing procedures.
- Coordinates and conducts pre-trial meetings with counsel and parties.
- Tracks and prepares travel or other reimbursement requests.
- Coordinates the timely processing of documents.

- Knowledge of legal terminology, citations, and procedures.
- Understanding of court rules and operations.
- Experience in case management systems and legal research.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Customer service skills and ability to handle public inquiries.
- Organizational and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to manage office files and records.
- Ability to coordinate with other agencies and court staff.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Office or court setting.
- Extended periods of sitting and computer use.
- Nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime may be required.
- Positive interaction with co-workers, clients, the public, judges, and justices.
- Works after hours and on weekends with flextime.

Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in any field.
- Experience: Three (3) years of court case processing, professional legal secretarial, or office management experience.
- Certification: Court Monitor Certification within three (3) months for district courts without pools of court monitors.
