About the role
We are seeking experienced and motivated Class B tri-axle CDL drivers to join our team. This position emphasizes reliability and attentiveness, with daily responsibilities including maintaining truck logs and vehicle upkeep.
Responsibilities
- Perform all work adhering to MSHA and H&K Safety policies
- Drive truck to destination
- Prepare receipts for load pick-up
- Maintain truck log according to state, federal, and company regulations
- Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor for delivery instructions
- Load and unload truck
- Inspect truck equipment and supplies (tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, water)
- Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Tarp all loads when traveling on public roadways
- Trim loads prior to tarping when necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) from an accredited institution
- Class A CDL with 1 year of commercial driving experience or Class B CDL with 1 year of tri-axle driving experience
- Valid Medical Card
- Clean driving record
- Customer service and teamwork skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to pass a fit test and use appropriate PPE
- Ability to meet physical job requirements (movement, lifting, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of commercial driving experience
- 3 years of tri-axle driving experience (strong preference)
- Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
- TWIC card (preferred with Class A CDL)
- Experience in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries
- MSHA, OSHA, or other relevant safety certifications
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Work Environment
- Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
- Frequently exposed to vibration
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Noise level is usually loud
