Brief Description
LJB Engineering Company is a national engineering consulting firm seeking a full-time Trenchless Rehabilitation Practice Lead. This role supports rapid growth in tunnel and trenchless design and construction management.
Essential Functions
- Perform geotechnical engineering for trenchless rehabilitation projects, including CIPP, sliplining, spray applied pipe lining, spiral wound pipe, pipe bursting, pipe ramming, etc.
- Develop proposals, cost estimates, and schedules for trenchless and rehabilitation projects; lead tasks and teams; produce technical deliverables.
- Create technical memoranda, letters, and reports; participate in technical meetings and workshops.
- Secure new business through business development activities, including identifying project leads, teaming discussions, and leveraging client relationships.
- Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, both technically and non-technically.
- Increase LJB's visibility through participation in industry initiatives, conferences, committees, and community associations.
- Manage office-based and field-based tasks, including standard weekday work hours and potential weekday, night, and weekend field work.
Qualifications
- At least 15 years of relevant experience in trenchless rehabilitation projects, including both design and construction phases.
- Substantial professional project expertise in planning, designing, and constructing various tunnel and trenchless projects.
- Technical engineering and field-level experience with rehabilitation measures for existing water/sewer tunnels and pipes.
- Training and experience in project management.
- Experience in proposal writing and job scoping.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork skills.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant technical codes, operations, processes, and trends.
- Ability to work independently, exercise independent judgment, interact with other staff, collaborate with other disciplines, and mentor junior staff.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Geological/Geotechnical, or related field, with a Master’s degree preferred.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent knowledge of trenchless rehabilitation construction methods and products.
Compensation and Benefits
