About the role

The Salvation Army Midtown Service and Treatment Center is seeking a part-time Treatment Support Specialist to join their team. This role involves monitoring Substance Abuse Program activities, including Detox, Residential, and Outpatient Treatment Programs. Duties include conducting client evaluations, assessments, developing treatment plans, performing screenings, and providing counseling services.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client evaluation interviews, assess treatment needs, and develop treatment plans.
  • Perform breathalyzer and urinalysis tests on clients.
  • Conduct routine search and seizure procedures.
  • Orient new clients upon admission to the program.
  • Conduct financial screenings and refer clients to appropriate resources.
  • Counsel detox clients about treatment options and refer to other agencies if necessary.
  • Refer eligible clients to Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in collaboration with the ACS/Counselor.
  • Lead group counseling activities for Residential, Outpatient, and Family Support programs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with one year of work experience.
  • Must be a team player, self-starter, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must have good communication skills and be supportive of The Salvation Army's mission and policies.
  • Requires a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must pass a Family Safety Care Registry Check, Hepatitis A vaccine documentation, annual TB test, current CPR certification, and Serv-Safe Certification.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 pounds occasionally.

Qualifications

Essential qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of work experience, and the ability to perform the duties listed above in an office setting.
