Treatment Plant Operator II (Water)

Requirements

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

• Graduation from a standard senior high school, or the successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) test.
• A minimum of one year experience at the level of a Treatment Plant Operator I or Pretreatment Specialist I; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.
• Must be certified in water or wastewater treatment by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM).
• Special Requirement: Must be certified in water or wastewater treatment by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM).

Special Requirements

• Mobile and Saraland - possession of a Grade III Certificate in Water or Wastewater Treatment, preferably both, except for assignment to the Stickney Filtration Plant (Moffat Road) and the Myers Filtration Plant (Hubert Pierce Road which requires a Grade IV Water Certificate.
• Prichard – possession of a Grade II Certificate in Water Treatment OR possession of a Grade III or IV Wastewater Certificate.
• Bayou La Batre - possession of a Grade II Certificate in Water Treatment or Grade III Certificate in Wastewater Treatment.
