About the Role

The Principal Financial Systems Analyst will serve as Treasury Operations’ primary business lead for PSE’s enterprise-wide S/4HANA integration and ongoing systems optimization. They will lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless migration of all payment functions (Payroll, AP, and Treasury) onto a unified S/4 platform. The ideal candidate has expertise with SAP S/4HANA Treasury and cash management modules along with experience with large-scale system implementations or migrations. Once S/4HANA is implemented, this analyst will drive process innovation through S/4 optimization and emerging AI technologies. They will act as the primary liaison between Treasury, IT, and SAP for technical issue identification, resolution, and system enhancements in Treasury’s current S/4 environment. The analyst will provide backup leadership for daily treasury operations including cash management, investment decisions, and banking relationships.

Responsibilities

  • S/4HANA Integration Leadership
    • Utilize strong project management skills to balance priorities and coordinate communications across stakeholders while serving as the primary liaison between Treasury, IT, and SAP teams for technical issues, system enhancements, and process improvements.
    • Lead Treasury's participation in enterprise-wide ECC to S/4 migration for the Finance organization.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams to integrate Payroll, AP, and Treasury payment functions onto a unified S/4 platform.
    • Define treasury requirements, design processes, and oversee testing for seamless migration.
    • Manage Treasury stakeholder alignment, communication, and training throughout the transition.
    • Ensure continuity of all treasury operations, controls, and regulatory compliance during migration.
    • Lead and provide ongoing training for Treasury staff on evolving system and process modifications resulting from Finance's comprehensive SAP S/4.
    • Enhance cash positioning and forecasting processes through strategic use of system functionality.
  • Technical Systems Management
    • Serve as the primary Treasury lead for current S/4 Treasury system troubleshooting and problem resolution.
    • Collaborate with vendors, such as banking partners or SAP, on system optimization and functionality improvements.
    • Use analytical tools and methods to analyze and streamline complex business processes.
    • Work directly with management and stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, specifications, and timelines.
    • Research, recommend, develop, and test system functionality to meet business requirements for financial systems.
    • Verify that system requirements developed by IT fully accomplish business requirements.
    • Coordinate initial release testing and project development testing to confirm expected system results/goals in coordination with business users.
    • Identify opportunities to use AI tools and automation when viable.
  • Backup Support for Treasury Operations
    • Provide backup support to Manager, Treasury Operations for daily cash management activities, including: daily cash positioning, making borrowing and investment decisions, ensuring bank reconciliations, and other activities during the manager's absence.
    • Ensure SOX compliance and maintain strong internal controls.
    • Advise on treasury technology strategy and digital transformation.
  • Analyze simple to moderately complex business processes, functions, and procedures to determine the most effective business systems technology to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to improve effectiveness and create process improvements and workplace efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Strong data analytic, business process improvement, and system troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting, budget, and finance.
  • Experience in business case development for medium to large projects and leading and delivering projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of information systems, business processes, and key drivers and measures of success for the relevant business.
  • Ability to anticipate unique business decisions and situations and respond accordingly.
  • Demonstrated team leadership and facilitation techniques.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of management.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities and take initiative to drive solutions; works effectively without direct supervision in a fast-paced, stressful, and multitasking environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related quantitative field (desired).
  • Applicable Finance Certification (CFA, CPA, CTP) (desired).
  • Expertise with SAP S/4HANA Treasury and cash management modules (desired).
  • Experience with large-scale system implementations or migrations (desired).
  • Knowledge of banking operations, payment systems, and treasury technology (desired).
  • Functional understanding of payment file formats, bank statement formats, acknowledgements, payment status, etc. (desired).
  • 5+ years of experience in the gas and/or electric industry (desired).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and create capacity (desired).
  • Ability to anticipate unique business decisions and situations and respond accordingly (desired).
  • Experience leading and delivering projects under tight deadlines (desired).
  • Ability to drive solutions/decisions beyond area of expertise and proactively address potential issues (desired).

Pay

The pay range for this position is $108,200.00 - $180,200.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals-based incentive bonuses.
