About the role
The Treasurer’s Assistant is a full-time, on-site role located in Hamilton, OH, supporting the Treasurer’s Office in daily financial and administrative operations.
Responsibilities
- Processing accounts payable and receivable
- Reconciling bank statements
- Maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with district policies and state regulations
- Preparing routine financial reports
- Organizing documentation for audits
- Maintaining confidential files and records
- Responding to inquiries from staff, vendors, and community members
- Supporting payroll and benefits processing as needed
- Helping ensure compliance with budgeting and purchasing procedures
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic accounting and bookkeeping, including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, with experience managing documentation, filing systems, and routine office procedures
- Ability to use office and financial software (e.g., spreadsheets, databases, accounting systems) and to learn district-specific systems quickly
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-service mindset when interacting with staff, vendors, and community members
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and discretion in handling confidential financial and personnel information
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a school district environment
- Relevant experience in a school district, public sector, or finance/administration role is preferred
- Associate’s degree or equivalent post-secondary coursework in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is beneficial; a combination of education and experience will be considered
