Treadmill Technician - Full Time

About the Role

Performs quality treadmill tests to assist the physician in evaluating the cardiac status of the patient.

Responsibilities

• Orient patients to the testing procedure
• Provide instructions and respond to questions
• Prepare patient and equipment to perform the test
• Accurately obtain baseline vital signs and document them
• Prepare skin and apply electrodes
• Ensure equipment is ready for testing
• Assist in the performance of the test
• Obtain BP and EKG tracings
• Monitor patient’s ability to sustain treadmill speed
• Follow physician orders to properly complete the stress test
• Ensure patient safety
• Prepare final report for the EHR
• Record tracings
• Prepare report based on study information obtained during testing
• Type report for final placement in the EHR
• Prepare chart prep for office patients

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalent
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment
• CPR certification within 90 days of employment

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience in stress testing, EKG, or other cardiac-related field
