TREADMILL TECHNICIAN - FULL TIME

About the Role

Performs quality treadmill tests to assist the physician in evaluating the cardiac status of the patient.

Responsibilities

• Orients patients to the testing procedure
• Provides instructions and responds to questions
• Prepares patient and equipment in order to perform test
• Accurately obtains baseline vital signs and documents them
• Prepares skin and applies electrodes
• Ensures equipment is ready for testing
• Assists in the performance of the test
• Obtains BP and EKG tracings
• Monitors patient's ability to sustain treadmill speed
• Follows physician orders to properly complete the stress test
• Ensures patient safety
• Prepares final report for the EHR
• Records tracings
• Prepares report based on study information obtained during testing
• Types report for final placement in the EHR
• Prepares chart prep for office patients

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalent
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment
• CPR certification within 90 days of employment

Qualifications

Preferred: One year experience in either stress testing, EKG, or other cardiac-related field.
