Travelle Restaurant/Bar Cook-Part Time - The Langham, Chicago
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
Aid the cooks in preparing food items for Travelle kitchen according to standardized recipes from Banquet Event Orders (BEO's) or guest checks.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES
- Supply assigned workstation with necessary products and culinary equipment for prompt production.
- Prepare all prep work for menu items using standardized recipes; set up and prepare items for banquets per prep lists and BEO's.
- Store all food in refrigerated boxes, ensuring proper labeling and date marking to prevent waste and spoilage.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly walk, use hands to handle, feel, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally stand and taste/whisper.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to use a chef knife.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Prior Line or Banquet cook experience of one year preferred.
- Working knowledge of how to clean and cut vegetables and fruits.
- Familiarity with classical knife cuts and knowledge of at least three Mother Sauces.
- High School diploma preferred.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
- Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate.
