Travelle Restaurant/Bar Cook-Full Time - The Langham, Chicago

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

Aid the cooks in preparing food items for Travelle kitchen according to standardized recipes from Banquet Event Orders (BEO's) or guest checks.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES

• Supply assigned workstation with all necessary products and culinary equipment for prompt production.
• Prepare all prep work for menu items using standardized recipes as a guide; set up and prepare items for banquets per prep lists and BEOs.
• Store all food in refrigerated boxes, ensuring proper containers and labels are used to prevent waste and spoilage.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace.
• Perform physical demands such as walking, reaching, standing, tasting, smelling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and adjusting focus.
• Use technical skills to assess strengths, seek continuous learning, share expertise, and provide feedback.
• Exercise problem-solving skills, customer service, teamwork, and adaptability.
• Ensure quality management, organizational support, professionalism, quantity, safety, and security.
• Adapt to changes in the work environment and handle unexpected events.
• Volunteer for tasks, ask for help when needed, and contribute to a positive team spirit.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Prior Line or Banquet cook experience of one year preferred.
• Working knowledge of cleaning and cutting vegetables, classical knife cuts, and preparation of at least three Mother Sauces.
• High School diploma preferred.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

• Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate.
