About the role

An award-winning, employee-owned design-build general contractor is seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead projects across the United States. This role is ideal for a hands-on construction leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys traveling, and has a proven track record of successfully delivering commercial, industrial, distribution, manufacturing, or specialty construction projects from groundbreaking through closeout.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all field operations and oversee day-to-day construction activities on assigned projects nationwide.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules in partnership with the Project Manager, ensuring manpower, equipment, and subcontractor activities align with project milestones.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel while maintaining productivity, quality, and schedule objectives.
  • Monitor project progress, prepare daily reports, and communicate regularly regarding project status, challenges, and solutions.
  • Enforce site safety standards and ensure compliance with all company, client, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review project documentation, field purchase orders, invoices, and other construction-related records.
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, design teams, and trade partners while driving successful project outcomes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Lead Superintendent managing commercial construction projects.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Experience coordinating multiple trades and managing complex construction schedules.
  • Proficiency with construction technology platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet the physical requirements of an active construction site.
