Traveling HVAC Installation Technician

About the Role
Pearce Services is seeking a skilled and motivated Traveling HVAC Installer Technician to join our team installing, servicing, and repairing commercial HVAC units on cell phone towers. This is a fast-paced and challenging role best suited for individuals who are self-directed, highly motivated, willing to travel, and looking to learn and grow in the Telecom industry. This is a travel position requiring 90% travel for up to three weeks at a time. Candidates should reside in the Fort Wayne or Indianapolis, Indiana area.
Responsibilities
- Installing and replacing components of entire systems of commercial cooling systems on cell tower cooling units
- Timely and accurate completion of daily reports
- Driving to remote work sites as needed
- Performing upgrades on out-of-season equipment
- Conducting performance checks as required
Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
Requirements
- 1 or more years of experience with HVAC maintenance (commercial preferred)
- 1 or more years of construction experience will be considered in lieu of HVAC experience
- Experience with wall-mounted MarvAir, Bard, and MarvAir DAC/WAC direct air-cooling units highly preferred
- Basic knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components including refrigeration systems
- Must reside in the Fort Wayne or Indianapolis, Indiana area
- Must be able to comply with FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA Standards
- 80% travel required; up to three weeks at a time with a per diem provided when traveling
- Ability to operate a phone, computer, and/or tablet
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and by email
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Must have the ability to inspect and/or troubleshoot equipment/alarms effectively, both visually and audibly
- Must be available for on-call and travel, especially during busy summer months
- May need to pass DOT physical
Pay
$18.00–$25.00 hourly, based on experience.
