ARCO Design/Build, part of the ARCO Family of Construction Companies, is seeking a Traveling Concrete Superintendent to manage concrete construction and field operations from project start to completion—ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery that meets specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assure adequate manpower is provided to meet construction schedules.
  • Analyze and assist the general superintendent in determining construction equipment requirements; procure, utilize, and release equipment efficiently.
  • Determine job requirement quantities for each phase of work.
  • Direct and supervise carpenters, cement finishers, iron workers, and laborers.
  • Inform all supervisors promptly of any construction schedule changes.
  • Review and assist the project manager in approving requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, progress payment requests, and other significant reports.
  • Report regularly to the project manager on job progress, plans, and potential cost/schedule impacts.
  • Cooperate with the general contractor and representatives, keeping them informed of construction progress.
  • Maintain a daily diary recording significant project facts, events, conditions, visitors, owner contacts, commitments, agreements, and approvals.
  • Direct adherence to the company’s safety program in all project phases and areas.
  • Familiarize yourself with and strictly adhere to all company policies; ensure all employees are aware of and conform to them.
  • Act with integrity, supporting company values and employees while focusing on meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience supporting one or more major concrete projects simultaneously.
  • Tilt-up concrete and cast-in-place wall experience is a major plus.
  • Able to make decisions under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and manage multiple activities to achieve desired results.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability and willingness to face challenges, direct others, and effectively address conflict.
  • Computer skills: proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in your state of residence.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including standing or walking for long periods (occasionally on uneven terrain), bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and lifting heavy loads up to 50 pounds.
