About the Role

This is a traveling position responsible for leading a team in an assigned territory, which includes food processing plants in a set region. You will work cooperatively with Safefoods, A division of Fortrex, management team, team members, and customers to ensure streamlined ordering, delivery, and application of our products. This role involves managing and controlling budgeted costs of chemicals, equipment, freight/fuel, and labor while maintaining open communication with management about any variances. You will play a critical role in both maintaining existing customer relationships and generating new business opportunities.

Communicate regularly with key plants in the geographical area to ensure day-to-day processes are performed effectively and efficiently. Supervise a team of Account Management Area Managers and Account Managers to achieve stated goals and serve customers with excellence. Consistently seek ways to reduce costs and increase efficiency for the company and our customers while finding new business expansion in the assigned geographical area.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Account Management Area Managers and Account Managers.
  • Oversee the approval process for expenses of territory personnel.
  • Ensure streamlined ordering, delivery, and application of products.
  • Manage and control budgeted costs of chemicals, equipment, freight/fuel, and labor.
  • Maintain open communication with management about any cost variances.
  • Maintain and grow existing customer relationships while generating new business opportunities.
  • Communicate regularly with key plants to ensure effective and efficient day-to-day processes.
  • Seek ways to reduce costs and increase efficiency for the company and customers.
  • Identify and pursue new business expansion opportunities in the assigned territory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Associate's degree or 7-10 years of experience in the sanitation/food processing industry.
  • Area Manager or equivalent experience (18 months at this level preferred).
  • Strong managerial skills, including decision-making and conflict resolution.
  • Integrity, honesty, initiative, and customer focus.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to learn new programs.
  • Possess a valid and active driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Work experience or education in Food & RTE Processing Operations, Quality Assurance, or Sanitation.
  • Previous experience leading a sales team in the Food, Beverage, Dairy, and RTE industry.
