About the role
This is a traveling position responsible for leading a team in an assigned territory, including food processing plants in a set region. The Account Management Division Manager works cooperatively with Safefoods (a division of Fortrex), management, team members, and customers to ensure streamlined ordering, delivery, and application of products. This role involves managing and controlling budgeted costs of chemicals, equipment, freight/fuel, and labor while maintaining open communication with management about variances. You will play a critical role in maintaining existing customer relationships and generating new business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Communicate regularly with key plants in the geographical area to ensure day-to-day processes are performed effectively and efficiently.
- Manage the approval process for expenses of territory personnel.
- Supervise a team of Account Management Area Managers and Account Managers to achieve stated goals and serve customers with excellence.
- Consistently seek ways to reduce cost and increase efficiency for the company and customers.
- Pursue new business expansion in the assigned geographical area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Associate's degree or 7-10 years of experience in sanitation/food processing industry.
- Area Manager or equivalent experience (18 months at this level preferred).
- Strong managerial skills, including decision-making and conflict resolution.
- Integrity, honesty, initiative, and customer focus.
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new programs.
- Valid and active driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Work experience or education in Food & RTE Processing Operations, Quality Assurance, or Sanitation.
- Previous experience leading a sales team in the Food, Beverage, Dairy, and RTE industry.
Work Environment
- Exposure to wet, hot, cold, and various shifts, requiring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Frequently (33% - 66% of the time, 2.5 - 5.5+ hrs/day): Stand, walk, sit, reach outward, squat/kneel, bend. Lift/carry 11-50 lbs and push/pull 13-40 lbs.
- Constantly (more than 66% of the time, 5.5+ hrs/day): Use of fingers and hands. Lift/carry 10 lbs or less and push/pull 12 lbs or less.
- Occasionally (up to 33% of the time, 0 - 2.5+ hrs/day): Climb and crawl. Lift/carry 51+ lbs and push/pull 41-100 lbs.
