Travel Technician

Project duration: September – December

Schedule

Sunday – Thursday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Day Shift)

12-hour shifts; 100 % travel for the duration of the project.

Team Composition

• 1 Licensed/Experienced Electrician
• 1 Low Voltage/Data Technician

Teams will work together to install and commission access-control infrastructure at designated customer locations. The project involves both electrical and low-voltage cabling work to support a new network-based access-control system.

Responsibilities

Electrician

• Install and terminate high-voltage power circuits to designated power-supply locations
• Mount and wire Altronix power supplies and backup power components
• Install EMT conduit systems, including bends, connectors, couplings, supports, and straps
• Install junction boxes and pull boxes as required by site conditions
• Ensure compliance with NEC, local electrical codes, and customer standards
• Verify proper grounding and power distribution for access-control equipment
• Coordinate closely with the Data Technician during equipment installation and testing
• Perform troubleshooting and corrective actions related to electrical infrastructure

Data Technician

• Install and terminate CAT5e network cable
• Terminate RJ45 connectors and perform cable certification/testing
• Mount and connect Axis A1210-B Network Door Controllers
• Install and terminate Illuminated NFC Tap Point Assemblies
• Label, dress, and organize structured cabling
• Test network connectivity and device communications
• Assist with controller commissioning and system verification
• Maintain installation quality standards and documentation

Equipment & Installation Scope

• Access Control Hardware: Axis A1210B Network Door Controller, Illuminated NFC Tap Point Assembly, Altronix RBSNTTL Power Supply
• Cabling & Connectivity: CAT5e Network Cable, RJ45 Network Terminations, low-voltage device cabling, high-voltage power cabling
• Raceway & Infrastructure: EMT Conduit, EMT Connectors, EMT Couplings, Conduit Straps and Supports, Junction Boxes, Pull Boxes

Requirements

• Available Sunday through Thursday for the entire project duration
• Reliable transportation
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders and lifts
• Possess basic hand tools appropriate for the trade
• Ability to pass any site-specific background screening or safety requirements
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Qualifications

Electrician

• Commercial electrical installation experience
• Experience with EMT conduit installation and routing
• Knowledge of electrical code requirements and safety procedures
• Ability to work from prints, drawings, and installation documentation
• Experience with access-control or security systems preferred

Data Technician

• Experience with structured cabling installations
• Proficiency terminating and testing CAT5e/CAT6 cabling
• Familiarity with network-based access-control systems preferred
• Understanding of low-voltage installation best practices
• Ability to read floor plans, wiring diagrams, and project documentation

Pay

$20.00 – $33.00/hr
