Travel & Support Claims Analyst
About the role
The Associate Accounting Analyst (AAA) will lead, independently perform and analyze the more difficult duties required for maintaining the accounting and budgetary records. The incumbent must have an in-depth knowledge of the State’s accounting system and good working knowledge of professional accounting practices and procedures. The incumbent must have the ability to lead and make analytical decisions and recommendations regarding the accounting practices and principles as utilized in state government.
Responsibilities
- Lead and perform the more difficult duties required for maintaining the accounting and budgetary records.
- Perform reconciliations, preparation, and review/audit of financial information, including calculations, interpretation of data, and providing recommendations to management and staff.
- Work effectively with the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) and the California Automated Travel Expense Reimbursement System (CalATERS) Global.
- Be flexible to changes in priorities and assignments, apply project management principles to work assignments, and work under critical timelines.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Two years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, auditing, or a related field.
