Key Highlights

• Weekly pay: $1,367–$1,432 per week

• Shift: 5x8 rotating (8-hour shifts) with evening/night flexibility
• Travel assignment in a hospital SPD environment
• Float required to support unit needs

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, disassemble, clean, inspect, reassemble, and package instruments and SSI sets for sterilization
• Perform steam sterilization and low-temperature sterilization using appropriate methods; verify cycle completion and maintain sterilization records
• Reprocess GI and other endoscopes; maintain scope integrity and compatibility with washer and verification processes
• Prepare and pack instruments for cases; manage loaner trays and instrument tracking; assist with instrument counts and turnover between cases
• Support service lines including robotics, general, cardiac, neuro, orthopedics, ENT, urology, plastics, and others as listed; work with DaVinci Robot Xi when applicable
• Operate and maintain equipment like Olympus scopes and washers; adhere to time-based processing expectations (e.g., minor sets, dental sets, ortho trays) and ensure efficiency while preserving quality
• Uphold infection prevention principles, safety guidelines, and documentation requirements; participate in unit coverage, including weekend and holiday scheduling as needed

Requirements

• Certification: CRCST (HSPA) required; equivalency considered (CER, CIS, CHL), with verification
• Experience: minimum 5 years in sterile processing; 1 year in a Level 1 academic medical center with 20+ ORs; prior service line experience required
• Travel history: facility requires a minimum of 2 prior travel assignments totaling at least 13 weeks each
• Skills: competent in decontamination, prep/pack, steam sterilization, low-temperature sterilization, endoscope reprocessing (including GI); experience with robotic electronics and DaVinci Robot Xi preferred
• Equipment familiarity: Olympus scopes and washers; loaner trays; ability to work in high-volume, multi-service-line environments
• Schedule and geography: ability to work day/evening/night shifts on a rotating schedule; reliable transportation required due to limited public transit in the area
• Additional: Sterile Processor Certification verification or equivalent
