Travel Step Down Unit RN - $2,225 per week

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Stepdown unit in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The assignment starts 11/09/2026, lasts 13 weeks, with 36 hours per week on night shifts. Employment type is travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care to adult patients with heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke in a step down unit.
• Manage titratable and set rate drips such as Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro.
• Troubleshoot CPAP equipment and interpret telemetry strips.
• Respond to emergencies and collaborate with the charge nurse.
• Potentially float to ICU when experienced and appropriate.
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 with support from nurse aides and patient care techs.
• Work cyclic shifts (6:30 AM–7:00 PM or 6:30 PM–7:00 AM) ensuring a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Requirements

• Valid RN licensure.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Minimum of 2 years of related nursing experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Pass a pass/fail exam during orientation with a score of 90% or higher.
