Travel Senior MEP Project Manager-Mission Critical
Duties And Responsibilities
- Aids in the preparation of project estimates.
- Prepares project budgets and unit cost reports.
- Leads the project team in creating the project management plan (PMP).
- Participates in value engineering services as needed.
- Organizes and conducts pre-award and pre-construction meetings.
- Participates in the negotiation and preparation of project subcontracts.
- Obtains permits and resolves regulatory requirements as necessary.
- Develops and implements a project schedule and milestone plans.
- Ensures project materials and equipment procurement align with budget constraints and schedules.
- Monitors project quality, safety, and risk management plans.
- Maintains oversight of project site for cost, safety, quality, and schedule performance.
- Evaluates schedules to meet milestones and financial goals.
- Negotiates change orders and manages their impact on cost and profit.
- Prepares monthly client pay requests and follows up on collections.
- Attends and documents meetings with owners and other stakeholders.
- Coordinates all final close-out procedures, including as-built drawings, letter of substantial completion, and letters of recommendation.
- Provides project cost information for the estimating database.
- Prepares and organizes all project documents for storage.
- Participates in project management training.
- Collaborates with all company departments to ensure policies and procedures are followed and corporate objectives are achieved.
- Maintains professional relationships with vendors, owners, architects, community officials, and the public.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of six to eight years of project management experience in data center construction.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial construction processes.
- Understanding of estimating concepts, including bid verification, market rates, and change order processing.
- Knowledge of contractual language and concepts to protect the company while providing quality service to clients.
- Working knowledge of construction laws and practices.
- Understanding of building codes and design requirements relevant to the project.
- High standards of ethical conduct regarding organizational policies.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills, including sensitivity and discernment.
- Ability to work independently and make verbal presentations.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in analyzing data and using analysis to solve problems.
- Experience managing processes to achieve challenging goals.
- Professional affiliation (e.g., AGC member) and professional credentials (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE)) preferred.
- Community service participation preferred.
