About the role

The Scaffold and Insulation Laborer will install, repair, and remove insulation on piping, ductwork, industrial equipment, and other surfaces, as well as fabricate and install removable insulation blankets. You will work with a sheet metal worker to select materials and assemble or dismantle scaffolding, including ladders, walkways, and handrails. The role involves cleaning and preparing sites, removing debris, and loading/unloading scaffolding materials.

Responsibilities

  • Installs and replaces scaffolding and insulation in buildings and mechanical systems.
  • Clears and disposes of old insulation according to established safety guidelines.
  • Loads and unloads insulation materials.
  • Measures and cuts insulation to fit round pipes and equipment.
  • Fastens insulation in place with tape, screws, wire, or banding, as needed.
  • Brings necessary tools to the jobsite.
  • Trained to cut, bend, and shape sheet metal to required dimensions.
  • Actively champions a positive workplace and safety culture.
  • Performs various other duties and functions as required or assigned.

Physical Abilities

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 75 lbs. on a routine basis.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairways regularly throughout the work shift.
  • Ability to observe conditions and others as a safety attendant, staying alert while seated for long periods as needed.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Ability to perform inspections of sites, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to perform behavioral observations focused on safety and process improvement.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and report incidents, unsafe acts, or conditions immediately.

Training

Must provide proof of successful completion of OSHA 10-hour training within 60 days of starting at hth companies.
