Travel Scaffold and Insulation Labor

About the role

As a Scaffold and Insulation Laborer, you will install, repair, and/or remove insulation on piping, ductwork, industrial equipment, and other surfaces. You will also fabricate and install removable insulation blankets, working alongside a sheet metal worker to select the appropriate type and size of insulation and related materials based on project requirements. Additionally, you will assemble and dismantle tubular and system scaffolding or other temporary structures, including installing ladders, walkways, and handrails at job sites using various tools and lifts. Responsibilities include cleaning and preparing sites, removing debris, and loading/unloading scaffolding materials.

Responsibilities

• Installs and replaces scaffolding and insulation in buildings and mechanical systems.
• Clears and disposes of old insulation according to established safety guidelines.
• Loads and unloads insulation materials.
• Measures and cuts insulation to fit round pipes and equipment.
• Fastens insulation in place with tape, screws, wire, or banding, as needed.
• Brings necessary tools to the jobsite.
• Trained to cut, bend, and shape sheet metal to required dimensions.
• Actively champions a positive workplace and safety culture.
• Performs various other duties and functions as required or assigned.

Physical Abilities

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 75 lbs. on a routine basis.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairways regularly throughout the work shift.
• Ability to observe conditions and others as a safety attendant, staying alert while seated for long periods as needed.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
• Ability to perform inspections of sites, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to perform behavioral observations focused on safety and process improvement.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and report any incident, unsafe act, or unsafe condition immediately to the site supervisor and safety manager.

Training

Must provide proof of successful completion of OSHA 10-hour training within 60 days of starting at hth companies.
