About the role
The Nursing Supervisor provides administrative, operational, and clinical responsibilities for all services in the facility on days, evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays. They serve as the clinical resource person on patient care and services; acts as the patient care representative; collaborates with medical staff, ancillary support, and clinical services in order to ensure optimal patient care services and environmental conditions at all times.
Responsibilities
- Ensures appropriate intervention is demonstrated in all situations (e.g. deterioration of patient condition, disruptive behavior, equipment malfunctions, etc.).
- Serves as off-shift patient care representative, listens to patient or patient family members' issues, documents, and complaints, and investigates if required.
- Conducts rounds of all patient care areas and defines expectations for accurate reporting with emphasis on high-acuity patients.
- Collaborates throughout off-shift with support services, emergency, admitting, and clinical services to coordinate clinical patient care or environmental needs.
- Responsible for notifying Administrator-On-Call of serious issues, incidents, and internal and external disasters.
- Supervises patient care through verification of established nursing practices and patient care standards.
- Provides direction and guidance to facilitate the nursing process.
Qualifications & requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Licensure: Current Massachusetts RN license.
- Certifications: Current AHA BLS & ACLS Certification.
- Experience: 3+ years of advanced Med/Surg Tele experience. Preferred critical care nursing experience.
- Must be able to read Tele Strips, perform Cardiac Drips, and titrate meds.
- EMR (Charting system): EPIC.

- Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively and courteously work with a diverse group of people.
Schedule
- 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts.
- Nights, every other weekend, and every other holiday.
