The Travel RN will ensure quality patient care, implementation, and compassion within the home setting in a specific market discussed prior to starting. The Travel RN will report to an RN Case Manager or a team scheduler.
Responsibilities
- Provision of personal assistive care, including but not limited to:
- Bathing and dressing of patient (bed bath, shower, or tub)
- Personal hygiene: oral care, nail care, basic grooming
- Mobility assistance: ambulation, wheelchair mobility, bed mobility
- Toileting, including care for catheters, ostomies, and similar devices
- Meal preparation and assistance with nutritional intake if necessary
- Turning bedridden clients and changing bed clothes or soiled sheets
- Laundry, vacuuming, dusting, and other cleaning tasks
- Organization of client’s room or personal living space
- Kitchen tasks: washing dishes, emptying/loading dishwasher
- Client errands and transportation (e.g., medication pickup, grocery shopping)
- Monitor and record vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, temperature)
- Record intake and output (urine and bowel movements)
- Report client’s mood, behavior, or other emotional status
- Regularly assess the nursing needs of the client
- Participate in the establishment and implementation of the client’s service plan
- Provide nursing services as needed and in accordance with the client’s service plan
- Report all problems, changes in condition, and progress of client to the Case Manager and the client’s personal physician
- Medication administration and management as needed
- Complete all clinical documentation appropriately and within an acceptable time frame
Working Conditions
- Daily driving to and from appointments with clients and to the Agency office
- Flexible work week, including weekends and holidays if needed (compensation provided)
- Other conditions may apply based on clients, employees, or business environment
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
Requirements
- Current, valid license as a registered professional nurse or licensed practical/vocational nurse
- Reliable personal vehicle with valid insurance
- Negative criminal background history check and pre-employment drug screening
- Proficient use of spoken and written English
