Registered Nurse – Perioperative Nurse - Operating Room - Travel - (OR RN) position available at Allegheny General Hospital, rated the No. 1 hospital in Southwestern PA for Medical Excellence in Cancer Care, Major Cardiac Surgery, Coronary Bypass Surgery, Interventional Coronary Care, Kidney Transplant and Liver Transplant. Our physicians are renowned in their fields. Together with nurses, technicians, clinicians, and support staff, our team delivers advanced care in nearly every medical and surgical specialty.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care in the operating room setting
• Scrub for all assigned surgical cases
• Rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights
• Call and weekend shifts required (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday)
• In 6 weeks, may have up to 3 weekend shifts of call—either Saturday (24 hours: 7a-7a) or Sunday (16 hours: 7a-11p)
• May have more night shifts on Friday nights
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• In-house call rooms available
• No block scheduling

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license (Compact Accepted)
• BLS-AHA certification
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience within the last 3 years (facility strongly prefers 3 years)
• Level 1 Trauma experience—at least 1 year within the last 3 years
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience within the last 3 years
• Work history should not have more than 90 days of gap
• 1 reference within the last 36 months
• Cannot be a previous regular employee of the facility

Skills

Must be strong (proficient/expert) in the following surgical specialties:

• General Ortho (total joints required)
• Neuro (Crani & Spine required)
• Vascular
• Trauma
• Robotics—DaVinci (must be able to move arms and drape for cardiac cases)
• Transplant (preferred, not a hard requirement)

Pay

Pay Rate: $2535.00 - $2665.00 per week, based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week, with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
