About the role
Host Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown Med Surg for a 13-week assignment starting August 24, 2026, in Hilo, Hawaii.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and other healthcare providers in managing patients recovering from surgery or acute illnesses.
- Monitor patient vital signs and administer medications as prescribed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient progress and communicate with family members and referring physicians.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Hawaii.
- Current BLS certification.
- Experience in step-down or med-surg units preferred.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Skills
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR).
- Knowledge of step-down and med-surg protocols.
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Pay
The pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation), with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
