About the role
Host Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown Med Surg for a 13-week assignment starting on August 10, 2026, in Hilo, Hawaii.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients transitioning from intensive care units to step-down units.
- Provide care under the supervision of licensed professionals.
- Perform basic patient care tasks such as monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with daily activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Hawaii.
- Experience in step-down or med-surg units preferred.
- Passing score on the NCLEX-RN exam.
Qualifications
- Must be eligible for licensure in the state of Hawaii.
- Must be willing to work 40 hours per week, 12-hour shifts.
- Must be available for an initial orientation period before starting the assignment.
Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.

Pay
