Travel Respiratory Therapist - $1,996 per week

About the role

We're looking for Respiratory Care professionals for an immediate travel position opening in Charleston, WV. The right RT should have 1 year recent acute care experience. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide direct patient care to patients in a variety of clinical areas, including evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines. This is a 13-week travel assignment for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (Allied Health Professional).

Responsibilities

• Administer to patients a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities
• Maintain appropriate patient records and documentation
• Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, and maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories
• Evaluate equipment for proper and safe function
• Report malfunctions to director
• Perform arterial puncture and analyze sample according to procedure guidelines
• Interact with co-workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care for patient being treated
• Respond to emergent situations that could require respiratory support

Requirements

• 1 year of recent acute care experience (note: requirements list also indicates 2 years)
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NBRC certification
• PALS certification (may be required in some areas)
• NRP certification (may be required in some areas)
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

Physical requirements

• Able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty
• Able to easily lift 20 pounds
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds for patient moving or lifting
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Schedule

12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week. 13-week travel assignment.

Pay

Pay package based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
