The therapist will evaluate patients, recommend treatment plans, and provide respiratory care within the scope of their professional license with minimal supervision.ResponsibilitiesEvaluate patients and recommend appropriate respiratory treatment plans.Explain the purpose and procedures of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients, and provide education for discharge to home.Administer physician-prescribed treatments using invasive and non-invasive ventilators, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizers to deliver medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation.Perform chest physiotherapy to promote secretion clearance.Perform oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal suctioning.Conduct oximetry and capnography monitoring according to facility policy.Review chest X-rays to determine whether further evaluation is necessary.Perform 12-lead EKGs and recognize basic arrhythmias.Conduct pulmonary function studies according to policy, including NIF and vital capacity testing.Assist with respiratory care procedures, including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomy, and chest tube placement.Perform chest drainage using a PleurX catheter or similar device when applicable.Provide tracheostomy care, including emergency and non-emergency insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes.Perform arterial punctures, assess ventilatAbout Talent4HealthA leader and innovator, offering comprehensive talent solutions for the healthcare industry across the nation.
