Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Cath Holding Recovery

About the role

The Cardiac Cath Holding Recovery Unit at Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and recover patients for procedures in the Cath lab, EP lab, and Minor Procedure Room.
• Nursing assessments per procedural guidelines.
• Escalate patients who become critical or are unable to achieve preoperative baseline.
• Remove arterial and venous sheaths from the femoral, radial, and brachial sites.
• Manage vascular complications, epidurals, and GTTs post-operatively.

Requirements

• Two or more years of current acute care hospital experience related to ICU, PACU, or Cardiac Cath.
• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS certification.

Qualifications

• Education: Associates, Bachelors, or diploma in the Nursing Field.

Skills

• Experience with Cardiac holding areas, PACU Phase II, sedation recovery (moderate sedation and general anesthesia).
• Experience with pulling sheaths in femoral, radial, & brachial sites.
• Vascular complication management.
• Epidural and GTT management post-operatively.
