Overview
Registered Nurse – Postpartum, Cambridge, MA. Start date 08/11/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,414–$2,543 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: Rotating. Travel assignment in a hospital setting with float to the postpartum unit as needed. Locals within 50 miles are welcome with a local rate adjustment.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to postpartum patients after vaginal or c-section deliveries, with newborn observation and care
- Monitor maternal and newborn status, perform focused assessments, and document findings in the electronic medical record (EPIC experience preferred)
- Administer IV medications and treatments per orders (including IV antibiotics, intermittent IV magnesium, PRBCs, rhogam, lovenox) and manage prescribed therapies
- Support lactation needs, educate families on newborn care, postpartum recovery, and early discharge planning
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (nursing, physicians, lactation consultants, and ancillary staff) to ensure safe, high-quality care and timely discharge planning
- Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and unit protocols; respond to postpartum complications as per training and policy
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license (NURSYS verification current or conditional within the last 7 days)
- BLS and NRP required at submission
- Acute care postpartum experience: 1+ year
- Travel experience preferred; willing to accept first-time travelers
- Lactation certification preferred
- EMR experience preferred (EPIC is noted)
- Must be able to work every other weekend and every other major holiday
- Flu vaccine required during flu season

Orientation includes hospital system-wide training (3 days) plus 3 days on the unit.
