Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job
Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated obstetric nursing care for laboring patients and newborns according to standards of care and the nursing process
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications, provide support during labor and delivery, and manage postpartum care
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff across levels; coordinate care with anesthesia, obstetric, neonatology, and ancillary teams
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, identify outcomes, and participate in discharge planning for continuity of care
- Educate patients and families, provide health information, and document care in the electronic health record; uphold safety and infection control standards
- Collaborate with the care team to promote a healing, humane, and patient-centered environment; delegate responsibilities appropriately
Requirements
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice (California) required
- Education: BSN preferred; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Experience: At least two years of recent experience in the field; acute care/L&D experience preferred
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or BLS certification as applicable; AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS required; AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS required
- Special skills: Current EPIC and Cerner electronic health record experience (required for assignment backfill)
- Other: Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting; U.S. work authorization; capable of fitting the 3x12-hour day shift schedule
About the role
This travel assignment is in a short-term acute care setting, starting 08/17/2026 for 8 weeks, with 48 guaranteed hours per week. Shifts are 3x12-hour days (07:00–19:00).
The facility is a 173-bed short-term acute care hospital offering obstetric and newborn services.
